She's...not exactly nervous.

A little nervous.

A tad nervous.

But not scared, really, as she looks at the dress Susan made her and the flowers Mary's brought, and fidgets, slightly, trying to remember how to breathe.

The twins are sulking around her feet, and it's something of a comfort that makes her smile.

"Only mildly hungover," Lilly says happily. "Vitamins and water, every time."

"Not nervous, though. I mean, if I thought you suspected my plans to stand up at the speak now bit and tearfully confess my love for you before drunkenly passing out on the hem of your wedding dress, I might be nervous. But as it is, I'm good."

[called_lioness]

"Was that your confession of love?" Lucy asks, amused.

[awesome_lilly]

"Sure."

Lilly grins.

"Or, you know, best wishes on your wedding day. Whichever would be more appropriate. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell."

[called_lioness]

"Liar."

She's grinning back.

"I'll take the best wishes and your love on top of it, as long as it's platonic."

Lucy's eyes are bright and pleased, and as they talk she looks a little more relaxed.

"Platonic... you know, I know I've heard that word, but I think someone said something about it not involving sex in dressing rooms so I just blocked it out."

Lucy....chokes, a little.

"It's--you--he really liked the nightgown," she says, weakly.

[awesome_lilly]

"So I gathered."

Lilly feels her smug smile is completely justified.

"And you doubted me when I put the handcuffs on."

[called_lioness]

Lucy is the shade of a strawberry.






"Well, generally speaking," her voice still weak, "I don't associate handcuffs as leading to such a thing."

[awesome_lilly]

"Huh, really?"

Lilly shrugs.

"Ever since this one time I convinced Weevil to snag a pair of cuffs from one of his trips to county jail, I kinda have. Of course after the first time we switched to non-metal handcuffs, more like the ones I used on you, because otherwise ow."

[called_lioness]

Lucy eyes her skeptically.

"It was mostly just...awkward, with them."

[awesome_lilly]

"Because you were handcuffed together," Lilly points out.

"When just one of you is handcuffed, or handcuffed to something like a bedpost, it's less awkward good times, more just... good times. I'd show you, but somehow I think your about-to-be husband would object."

[called_lioness]

Lucy says, quickly, "That's quite all right." And then grins. "After all, he's just admitted your ideas tend to be good ones. Shouldn't want to convince him otherwise."

[awesome_lilly]

"My ideas are brilliant," Lilly protests, "and it's time he recognized that."

"I mean, seriously. Has the napkin ever steered him wrong?"

[called_lioness]

"Not once," Lucy says with an attempt at dignity.

"Does the napkin have any advice for today?"

[awesome_lilly]

Lilly smiles, and it's warm and happy and somehow serious all at once.

"Just... do it. Because if anybody should, the two of you should."

[called_lioness]

Lucy doesn't blush, this time.

Just smiles, slowly, and leans over to kiss Lilly's forehead very softly.

"Who am I to ignore the advice of my BFF?"

Lilly smiles up at her.

"Exactly."

And then she leans forward and carefully (so as not to leave wrinkles) but fiercely hugs the other girl.

[called_lioness]

The hug is returned in kind, as she tries to remember how to breathe.

"If I change my mind, want to run away to Vegas with me?"

She's not planning on it, mind.

[awesome_lilly]

Lilly smiles, slow and probably teasing.

"I have a suite reserved with our names on it, juuuuust in case. We can make a break for it any time you want."

Okay, so she doesn't really have a suite reserved, but she could.
