She's bored.

She's groomed Corella, and she's practiced her archery, and she's had hot chocolate, and now she's sitting in a tree and dangling her legs and considering dropping things--tiny things, mind you, like twigs, non-inclined-to-injure things--on people should they pass by.

So. Bored.

He's totally getting a look that says Lucy thinks he needs hit upside the head. Or a hug. Or for Lilly to introduce him to more fun.

"Can you ride bareback?"

Tirian needing to have more fun? That's just crazy talk.

He nods. "Aye, I can."

"Then take Corella."

"All right." Tirian moves obediently toward Corella's stall, glancing back over his shoulder. "Which will you ride, then?"

"Kiseki. I don't think Caspian will be cross." If she's wrong, oh, well.

If she's willing to risk it, Tirian is. He leads Corella out of the stall, one hand stroking her mane.

There's a faint whicker in Tirian's direction, as Lucy heads toward Kiseki.

"Where would you like to ride?"

Tirian mounts easily enough for being out of practice, and considers.

"The woods, mayhap? I've explored some of the pathways there, but only on foot."

"Aye. That will do nicely. And mayhap we'll have a smile on your face," Lucy answers as she mounts Kiseki and strokes his mane for a moment before grinning over at Tirian, "or else I'll have to turn to Lilly for ideas."

Tirian adopts a look of horror that is not entirely feigned.

"I hope to have a pleasant ride, then. Shall we?"

"Let's." They start out and she adds, "Don't you find yourself, well, bored?"

"Occasionally," Tirian says, trying for a noncommital tone. "I try to keep myself from getting too dull.

"And how do you do that?"

She sounds almost amused.

"Well, conversation, reading, sword practice..." he shrugs again, seeming a bit defensive now. "I suppose there are more activities I could pursue, but I get by well enough."

"Narnian men," she grumbles and seems to feel that that says it all.

There's not much Tirian can think to say in response to that, and not much he really feels inclined to say--as much as he respects and admires Lucy, he's not in any mood to subject himself to further scrutiny.

And perhaps Lucy would press further, if he seemed less resistant to it, and perhaps if she did, their ride would become less pleasant.

But it's a pretty fall day, and perhaps neither of them wants the afternoon to become less pleasant, and so they simply ride for a while, companionable, if silent.
