For Tom Riddle

Lord Ostium,
Forgive me if I seem overly formal in this, but there's a matter I think you must be made aware of, and I'd hoped to catch your attention with my language so that you'd pay close attention to my message.
There is a woman--if she may be called that, for she's not a human, nor near one--by the name of Jadis, though we call her the White Witch, which is perhaps a truer title. When my brothers and sister and I were children, we fought her, and she attempted to kill us. If it weren't for her ignorance in certain aspects of the Deep Magic of Narnia, and Aslan's help, she likely would have managed it.
She's a dangerous woman, and truly evil. I don't say this lightly, nor because she threatened my family, but for all her actions. She murdered her own world, and then turned another into winter for a hundred years. Those who crossed her were often turned to stone and kept in her castle.
Jadis, yesterday, entered Milliways. She is injured, and not well in her head, but she's been healed bya damned fool another patron, and I would not count on her being hurt to stop her.
She swore an oath, one she's bound to follow, to me that she has nothing against me and mine.
But her wording is vague enough, and such magic as enforces it at times specific enough, that I don't trust it a bit to protect us should she chose to find a way around it.
I think, perhaps, Lord Ostium, that given recent events, it would be far better for you to be aware of this than not.
Respectfully, and as always, grateful for all you've done for us,
Lucy Pevensie

Date: 2006-01-22 07:15 am (UTC)This is dire news indeed. I thank you for bringing the arrival of this threat to my attention. I trust you have also spoken with Security regarding this matter? If not, then I encourage you to do so immediately.
As you know, we've all had some experience with dangerous, powerful entities recently. I have a great deal of knowledge and dealings, more than I'd like to be, perhaps, with the Dark Arts, and those who channel it.
You and your family are a part of my House, and your protection is of the utmost importance. Do please let all concerned know that the charms on the paintings have been strengthened both by myself and by my son, Gavroche, whose magic works in different, yet complementary, ways. Once I meet Jadis, I shall further refine the charms to keep her out, even if she should bewitch someone to escort her in.
I shall meet her, of course, and I shall be careful. I have powers of my own to protect me and mine, and I intend to ensure the safety of the House of Arch and its occupants.
Respectfully,
Tom Riddle, Lord Ostium of the House of Arch

Date: 2006-01-22 07:27 am (UTC)I have left a letter for Sir Alanna about the Witch, and hope to speak with her in person at some point in the near future, as well.
I shall certainly let the others know, and I believe all of them will be as grateful as I am to hear it.
When you do go to see her, while I don't doubt you powers, may I suggest that you are accompanied? She has the ability to charm, and I'm uncertain as to how powerful she may be at the moment in that area or not. If nothing else, selfish as this may sound, I would not want any who aren't capable of caring for themselves and don't know of your particular skills to hear you went alone, and thus think it safe for them to do so.
It's possible I'm too concerned, but I would rather be that way than not enough, as I'm sure you understand.
With great thanks for your hasty response,
Lucy Pevensie

Date: 2006-01-22 07:36 am (UTC)I do not doubt that your concern is not in vain. Usually in situations such as this, it is wiser to be thorough in one's preparations. I shall do my best to take the precautions you suggested - whilst I think of myself as being invincible, it is good to be reminded I am not. The Lady Door will thank you kindly for doing so.
I shall let you know when I've spoken with her.
Respectfully,
Tom Riddle

Date: 2006-01-22 07:52 am (UTC)Again, I thank you, and do hope that you don't find yourself with any problems as a result of this.
Please give my best wishes to the Lady Door, as well as to Ingress, of course, and Gavroche.
With thanks,
Lucy Pevensie
